His days at Archbishop Mitty High School were notable for his contributions to the school basketball team and track events. With his help, in his sophomore year, the school competed in Division II of the state basketball championship, he played with zeal and panache, recording an average of 16.4 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.6 blocks in each game. That wasn’t all, as a junior, his school regained Division II honors for the state basketball championship as he averaged 22.9 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.3 blocks in every game. He was named California’s Mr. Basketball twice in a row and was also named US Basketball Athlete of the Year.

The high school days were soon over and the basketball players enrolled at the University of Arizona. He committed to the varsity basketball team, playing one season before announcing that he plans to enter the 2014 NBA draft in the remaining years of his collegiate career. That year, Aaron was selected by the Orlando Magic with fourth overall pick.

After sealing his deal with the Magic on June 26, 2014, he joined the team for the 2014 NBA Summer League. In 11 games, the basketball player suffered a bone injury and was ruled out of the remaining seasons. On January 18, 2015, he made his comeback in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Later, in a fight against the Milwaukee Bucks, Aaron made his first career double-double 10 points in addition to 12 rebounds that led to a 97-90 win.

He went on with the Orlando Magic season, playing in three games and averaging 21.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.7 blocks. His next career highlight was a game against the Houston Rockets, where he scored 19 points. He then attended the Boston Celtics game on January 31, 2016 and recorded 14 rebounds leading to a 119–114 win.

As the season got tougher and more magical, the next phase saw Aaron Gordon noted as one of the more experienced players on the pitch. Battling the San Antonio Spurs, Aaron had 12 points and another career-high 16 rebounds. The basketball player appeared to be enjoying the game as he competed for the slam dunk contest at NBA All-Star Weekend 2016 and finished runner-up.

He then recorded 19 points in a 130-114 loss to the Golden State Warriors. Just three days later, he recorded a career-high 22 points in a win over the Philadelphia 76ers. At the end of the season, Aaron Gordon had a career-high 22 points in a loss to the Charlotte Hornets.

Come 2017, he was still stuck with the magic, competed in the team’s second dunk contest but was unsuccessful. He later recorded 20 of his 32 points and 16 rebounds during the first half of the Magic’s loss to the Boston Celtics. By the end of the season, he had 32 points in addition to 12 rebounds in a win over the Detriot Pistons.

Aaron renewed his contract with the Orlando Magic on July 6, 2018 and recorded 26 points and 16 rebounds in the team’s season-opener in a win over the Miami Heat.
