Kimberly Alexis Bledel was born on September 16, 1981 in Houston, Texas, USA.
Her father was born and raised in Argentina and her mother was born in Phoenix, Arizona but moved to Mexico at the age of eight, where she was raised , so Bledel grew up in a Spanish-speaking home and didn’t learn English until he started school; She considers herself Latina.
Bledel’s parents encouraged her to try community theater in Houston when she was 8, hoping that it would help their daughter overcome her shyness. She began her modeling career while still in high school, traveling to places such as Tokyo, Milan, New York, and Los Angeles. After graduating, she enrolled at NYU to study film.
Alexis made her television debut on the hit series Gilmore Girls , where she played Rory Gilmore, for seven seasons.
