The court has been informed that Gary Neville has become implicated in Ryan Giggs’ domestic abuse trial, with the presentation of WhatsApp messages and emails.
In 2013, Giggs reportedly met Kate Greville, who aided in promoting his Hotel Football establishment, a venture launched with Neville, his former Manchester United colleague.
Greville alleged that Giggs engaged in controlling and coercive behavior, bombarding her with up to 50 messages per hour and threatening to harm her career.
Greville later joined Giggs’ company GG Hospitality, co-owned by Giggs and Neville, where emails from Giggs’ mobile phone and Greville’s work laptop were presented in court.
She claimed that Giggs displayed jealousy, as evidenced in the emails where he accused her of sending private messages and dating a colleague from the same firm co-owned by Giggs.
The trial also referenced an incident where Neville’s assistant was present during a dispute between the couple at a hotel jointly owned by Giggs and Neville.
Greville detailed instances where Giggs sent threatening messages and emails after she blocked his calls on WhatsApp and found out about his relationship with another woman.
Greville disclosed that she was planning to leave Giggs and had arranged for a new residence without his knowledge. The court heard about an argument that ensued when Giggs learned about a date proposal to Greville from another man.
Greville stood her ground, leading to a heated argument resulting in Giggs asking for an apology and storming out, subsequently packing her belongings and asking her to leave. The confrontation escalated, and Giggs allegedly displayed aggression, leading Greville to fear for her safety.
In another instance, Greville recounted an altercation where Giggs became physically violent, resulting in her sustaining injuries.
She described Giggs attacking her without provocation, which led to her being physically restrained and injured. She portrayed a distressing scene with Giggs exhibiting extreme aggression.
