Russia has accused Ukrainian troops of engaging in ‘black magic’ rituals at a military base in Ukraine with the intention of amplifying the harm inflicted on Russian forces.

According to Russian news agency RIA Novosti, a ‘satanic seal’ – a symbol believed to possess connections to a higher supernatural power – was discovered on the wall of an abandoned Ukrainian military base on the outskirts of the village of Trekhizbenka in the disputed Luhansk region.

The state media then alleged that the satanic seal, along with other markings made with blood, indicated that Ukrainian soldiers were possibly ‘practicing black magic’.

The news agency claimed that ‘followers of otherworldly forces attempted to consecrate their weapons and made blood marks’ in order to infuse their arsenal with additional power to cause more damage upon hitting a target.

On Wednesday, May 4, Russian culturologist and philosopher Ekaterina Dais asserted on a TV channel that the symbol, spray-painted with black ink, was a ‘magical seal of the dark forces’ representing a combination of anarchy, weaponry, and fascist symbols.

Dais claimed that the creators of the symbol conducted ‘rituals’ to empower their weapons or sought supernatural intervention for weapons to be bestowed upon them.

‘This is a magical symbol consisting of many intersecting lines,’ Dais described about the black symbol.

‘It’s difficult to ascertain its exact meaning, as it depicts both the inverted sign of anarchy and a part of the ‘SS’ sign. The rune zig is clearly visible in the left sector of the circle, as well as the Hebrew letter ‘zain’ inscribed in German, signifying a sword or weapon.’

Dais suggested that the seal was drawn without the creator physically lifting a hand, implying its ‘supernatural nature’.

She explained that the ‘Zain’ written beneath the symbol denotes ‘sword’ in Biblical Hebrew, and speculated, ‘Perhaps the authors of the spell conducted rituals to empower their weapons or “asked” for more weapons to be sent to them.’
