BIOGRAPHY
Amanda Seyfried was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States. She graduated from William Allen High School and studied at Fordham University in New York. From the age of 11 she began to participate in television commercials, but thanks to her physical appearance she soon debuted on the small screen in As the World Turns , one of the most famous soap operas in the United States. In 2005, Amanda Syfried’s acting career took off thanks to her role as a sexy teenager in Mean Girls , alongside Rachel McAdams and Lindsay Lohan. In parallel, she appears episodic in television series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , House and CSI . Her most famous performance on the small screen, without a doubt, was in Veronica Mars as Lilly Kane, Mars’ best friend, played by Kristen Bell. The actress continued her career on television with the HBO series, Big Love. Simultaneously, she participated in acclaimed films such as Nine Lives (2005), by Rodrigo Garcia, in which the portrait of nine women of today is shown. Thanks to this role, all the actresses won the Bronze Leopard for best female performance at the Locarno Festival. Her consecration in the world of cinema came in 2008 with the musical comedy Mamma Mia! , in which she plays Meryl Streep’s daughter. A year later she stars in Chloe , where she shares the bill with Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson. In the film she plays an escort girl hired by a woman who suspects that her husband is unfaithful to her. In 2010, she stars in the romantic drama Dear John and the romantic comedy Letters to Juliet . A year later she heads the cast of Little Red Riding Hood: Who Are You Afraid of? , a new version of the classic tale directed by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke. By 2020, Amanda became a respected and in-demand actress. Likewise, she was nominated in 2021 for the Golden Globe in the category of Best Supporting Actress for her participation in Mank , directed by David Fincher. In 2017 she married fellow actor Thomas Sadoski and that same year she became a mother for the first time.
