Asha Rangappa – Biography

Born with the first name Renuka, the Americanlawyer was born on November 15, 1974. She was born to Indian parents Vinaya and Jai. Her parents emigrated to the United States from Karnataka, India, after the Hart-Celler Act was introduced in 1965. Asha is of Indian-American descent and holds an American citizenship. She grew up in the United States with her older sister Menaca.

Asha Rangappa is well learned, graduating cum laude from Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University and previously performed brilliantly at Kecoughtan High School. After graduating, she received a Fulbright scholarship to study constitutional reform in Bogotá, Colombia. In 2000 she graduated from Yale Law School with a law degree. To hone her skills, she served as a paralegal under the direction of Juan R. Torruella at the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Started her career in 2001, Asha Rangappa decided to join the FBI; So she trained to be an FBI agent. Just a month later, she was involved in a horrific traffic accident that nearly brought her career to a halt. Instead of pursuing her pain and treatment, she stayed with her workouts and followed all the rigorous processes that included multiple runs, situps, jumps, and more.

She successfully made it through the academy and then returned to office as an FBI special agent. Working with the Bureau, Asha became the first Indian American to specialize in investigating the FBI. She conducted several investigations, for which she was commended by her superiors.

After three years of a successful career with the FBI, Asha Rangappa pursued a career in education. She became Associate Dean at Yale University Law School. From there she moved to the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, where she served as Director of Admissions. She has also lectured at a number of other institutions, including Yale University, Wesleyan University, and the University of New Haven.

In 2003, the former FBI agent became a member ofthe Connecticut State Bar, as well as in New York. She also serves on the boards of directors of the Connecticut Society of Former FBI Agents, the South Asian Bar Association of Connecticut, and the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame.

More so, Asha Rangappa is adept with the pen, she has published several editorials for well-known news outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and The Atlantic Post. She is a contributing editor at Just Security and a legal and national security analyst for well-known media outlet CNN. Asha Rangappa has also made guest appearances on other platforms such as NPR, BBC and many more.

Is she married, who is the husband?

When it comes to her love life, Asha Rangappa always thought love would smile at her like her parents did. Nevertheless, the opposite seems to be the case. The former FBI agent has had her fair share of relationships. She was once married and now divorced.

From what we’ve gathered, Asha and her mystery husband married in 2004 after a long period of courtship, but later called off their vows in 2011. After finalizing their divorce, Asha Rangappa gained custody of their two children (a son and a daughter).

During the divorce, Twitter ran claims that her alleged mystery husband was Andrew Todd; an FBI agent. To date, Asha has refused to reveal the identity of the man who once had her heart. She is not currently romantically engaged to anyone and now resides in Hamden Connecticut with her children.
