Both Barcelona and Lyon maintained their 100-percent records in the Women’s Champions League group stage with wins over Rosengard and Brann respectively on Wednesday.
Barcelona, the defending champions, dominated with a 6-0 win over Rosengard in Sweden, keeping them three points ahead of second-placed Benfica in Group A.
Their victory included an own goal from Jessica Wik, followed by goals from Salma Paralluelo, Patricia Guijarro, Aitana Bonmati, Mariona Caldentey, and Martina Fernandez.
Meanwhile, Benfica secured a 1-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the same group, with Marie-Yasmine Alidou d’Anjou scoring the winner in the second half.
In Group B, Lyon extended their lead with a 3-1 win against Brann. Kadidiatou Diani and Ada Hegerberg scored for Lyon, while Justine Kielland netted a consolation goal for Brann.
With this win, Lyon is now three points ahead of Brann in the group standings. St Polten and Slavia Prague are five points behind, having played out a goalless draw in Austria.
