BIOGRAPHY
Barry Corbin studies theater at Technical University in Texas. After two years in the navy, he moved to New York where he continued his career. For nearly ten years, he performed in multiple theater productions before leaving for Los Angeles.
Barry Corbin became popular on American television with his portrayal of Maurice Minnifield in Welcome to Alaska. In 2003, he played basketball coach Whitey Durham in The Scott Brothers .
On the big screen, he landed the role of Uncle Bob in Urban Cowboy alongside John Travolta . He has repeatedly played police officers, soldiers or patriarchal figures in productions such as War Games , Nothing in Common , Ghost Dad or Sang-froid .
Twice divorced, he is the father of four children (three boys and one girl).
