Be a Santa to a Senior program at Home Instead Senior Care is a community services program that provides holiday cheer and gift giving to elders who are least likely to receive a present during the holiday season, lonely and financially challenged.
Home Instead Senior Care is partnering with The Center for Healthy Aging, a local non-profit organization, to organize the delivery of gifts to multiple local agencies including, Senior Outreach Services, Washoe County Senior Services, Reno Housing Authority, Veteran’s Services, and many others.
Community members can visit a participating Be Santa to a Senior location, remove a bulb with a senior's gift request from the tree, purchase the requested gifts and place the bulb with the gifts in the designated box. Volunteers will then collect, wrap and deliver the boxes to the seniors.
This will be the 11th year for the Be a Santa to a Senior program and last year they delivered over 2500 presents.
