Brad H. Gerstenfeld, known as Brad Garrett, is an American actor and comedian, born on April 14, 1960, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. Son of Barbara and Al Gerstenfeld, Brad studied at UCLA for two months, as he dropped out of school to pursue his dream of being a comedian.

He began his career by performing at various improv clubs in Hollywood and Pasadena. In 1984 he became the first winner in the comedy category of the show Star Search , taking home a prize of $100,000. The most important thing about the award would not be financial, but it earned him an opportunity to appear, at the age of 23, on The Tonight Show, hosted by the legendary Johnny Carson, becoming the youngest comedian to appear on the show. program.
