The recent addition of Benjamin Fredrick to Brentford has brought immense joy to head coach Neil MacFarlane.
Having joined the team on loan from Simoiben FC, the Flying Eagles defender has the option to make his signing permanent.
MacFarlane regards Fredrick as a promising talent and hopes for his continued development.
In an interview with the club’s official website, MacFarlane expressed his thoughts on the new acquisition:
“Benjamin is a player who has been identified by our recruitment department and he’s a real prospect, having impressed for Nigeria in recent tournaments. He’s a very tenacious player who likes to defend on the front foot. He’s somebody we will look to develop through our games programme, and we’ll see how his development progresses over the course of his loan. We look forward to welcoming Benjamin to the club.”
Brentford had been scouting Fredrick during the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations earlier this year in Egypt.
Furthermore, the centre-back showcased his skills while representing Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Argentina.
