Brooke Candice Nevin was born on December 22, 1982, in Toronto, Ontario, to parents Monique (Nicky) and Robert (Bob) Nevin, a retired professional hockey player who played for 4 teams, including the New York Rangers (in as captain), the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Los Angeles Kings. She grew up alongside her younger sister Kaleigh, who is also an actress.
The talented actress had always craved the spotlight from an early age. Her energies were first channeled into dance and music. At the age of four, she was enrolled in dance lessons where she learned tap, jazz and ballet before honing her musical skills playing the flute and piano. Brooke attended Leaside High School in Toronto. She was an active member of her school choir and the East York Youth Choir, where she performed in plays, community theater and talent shows before transitioning from the local stage to the big screen. However, her Hollywood career got off to a bit of a bumpy start.
Career
Brooke Nevin made her screen debut with minor roles in shows some of which were canceled due to low ratings and never made it to TV. However, her first rise to prominence was in 1998 when she joined the cast of Nickelodeon’s animated teen series, Animorphs, in which she played fashion gymnast Rachel. Berenson.
