The annual Summer Playlist by former US president, Barack Obama, is here.
In a tweet on his official Twitter page, the former president shared his preferred songs for the summer.
For the year 2023, his summer playlist consists of 41 songs, featuring Nigerian artists as always.
Burna Boy and Ayra Starr have maintained their spot on his 2022 Music playlist and have made it to his summer list as well.
Ayra Starr’s hit song “Stability” from 2023 and Burna Boy’s remix of “Sitting On Top Of The World” featuring 21 Sãvage have earned them a place on the list.
“Like every year, I am sharing some songs I have been listening to this summer – a combination of old and new. I look forward to hearing what I may have missed,” he tweeted.

Last year, Burna Boy and Tems made it onto his Summer playlist.
On his Twitter page, he shared how excited he is to share his playlist with his millions of followers and how he has discovered numerous new artists from their responses.
He added that their comments exemplify how music can unite us all.
In previous years, Rema and Wizkid were on his playlist, but this year, they did not make the cut.
Fast-rising artists Tems, Buju, and Pheelz, along with Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy, secured a spot on the list.
Tems’ song “Vibes” ranked second on his playlist, and Pheelz & Buju’s hit track “Finesse” and Burna Boy’s “Last Last” also made the cut.

At the end of the year, the former US president unveiled his music playlist, which featured Ayra Starr and Burna Boy.
Three songs from Nigerian stars – Burna Boy’s “Last Last,” Ayra’s “Rush,” and Rema’s “Calm Down” – were among his favorite music tracks of 2022. Nigeria representation on the list numbered 25 songs. Also included were Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, Rosalia, and others.
