A Carson City-based company called Nature's Bakery has been sold to KIND Bars.
"It felt like with us and what we had could only get it so far. And so to take it to that next step, global brand KIND was just the perfect suitor,” says Jan Marson, former president and chair, Nature’s Bakery.
Marson says her husband started the company in Carson City in 2011 and then expanded to St. Louis in 2014. But after selling throughout the U.S. and in seven countries, the owners thought selling to KIND Snacks was the next step.
According to the New York Times, the deal was valued at $400 million.
Marson says they're starting an organization called "serving our communities" to help Nevadans.
