Cody Kessler is a former USA TodayAll-American high schooler who currently plays in the National Football League for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The quarterback joined the Jaguars franchise in March 2018 in a trade that saw his previous team, the Cleveland Browns, take a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2019 round.
Biography, Age
Cody Kessler was born on May 11, 1993, in Bakersfield, California, to Christie and Don Kessler. He attended Centennial High School where he was named California Gatorades Football Player of the Year for 2,831 yards and 36 touchdowns. After competing in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, he later enrolled at the University of Southern California (USC).
Kessler was redshirted in his freshman year at USC, after which he was named as a replacement for Matt Barkley. In his second year, he was named the Trojans’ starting quarterback and led them to a 10–4 record. In 2013, at the Las Vegas Bowl, he was named Most Valuable Player after completing 22 of 30 passes for 345 yards and 4 touchdowns. All season, he completed 236 of 361 passes for 2,968 yards, with 20 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
His third season was just as impressive as the previous one when he completed 315 of 452 passes for 3,826 yards with 39 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. The highlight of the campaign was the six touchdowns he threw against rivals Notre Dame. He was the first quarterback to manage that many touchdown passes against the Fighting Irish in its 127-year history.
Cody Kessler’s final college season was He also completed 298 of 446 passes for 356 yards with 29 touchdowns and 7 interceptions before making it to the league via the 2016 NFL Draft.
Cody Kessler profile project
Cody Kessler was considered an average quarterback pick before the draft because physically he didn’t possess anything special. He was also noted for not being able to show balance or arm strength for deep, “wow” throws, and would rather settle for the low risk option. What impressed about him, however, was his attacking efficiency and success rate. Kessler owns the USC record for completion percentage at 67.5, making him a two-time finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
His NFL Combine preliminary measurables40 yards – 4.89 seconds, 10-yard split – 1.68 seconds, 20-yard split – 2.90 seconds, vertical jump – 0.75 m (29.5 in), wide jump – 2.64 m (8 feet 8 inches).
Salary
After penning the pen to a four-year, $3.85 million contract in 2016 with a signing bonus of $664,788, Cody Kessler earns an average annual salary of around $850,000. This figure will surely increase by 2020 when the player terminates his rookie contract and becomes an unrestricted free agent.
Who is Cody Kessler’s Girlfriend
I would say Cody Kessler is punching up his weight by having Ukrainian model Valeriya Kuklishyna as his girlfriend. But if you understood just how much of a defining personality and influence the USC quarterback had, you’d know Kessler would get almost any girl he wanted.
The pair reportedly started dating in the early months of 2016, just before Kessler was drafted into the NFL. It is unclear whether Kuklishyna, who is fluent in Ukrainian and English, was a student or attended USC. However, she is a professional model represented by LA Models. The camera queen, who recently starred in Chad Kelley’s “Lonely Girl” music video, is also an avid musician who plays piano and guitar.
Once they become a couple, Kessler and Kuklishyna should be the next big duo since Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, at least on paper. When either of them weren’t working, they always seemed to be liked, had a good time with each other, and were quick to post photos to show off their relationship online. After a few months of dating, Kessler took the audacity to ask for her friend’s hand in marriage. Everything seemed to follow script until mid-2017 when they called off their engagement and deleted their photos of themselves from their social media accounts.
