It follows that the team already had three quarterbacks, Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren said it was likely McCoy would not play his first season with the team so he could properly coach as an NFL quarterback. However, fate had a different plan! Starting quarterback Jake Delhomme and backup Seneca Wallace suffered injuries. McCoy started his NFL career in Week 6 with a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers

In the eleventh week of the season, Colt McCoy sustained an ankle injury in the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, missed the next three weeks, and returned in the fifteenth week. While playing the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14, he also suffered a concussion in a helmet-to-helmet kick with James Harrison, who was subsequently penalized.

McCoy, a runner-up and then finalist in the 2008 and 2009 Heisman Trophy, assisted Browns’ rookie pick Brandon Weeden throughout the 2012 season and subsequently completed 9 of 17 pass attempts for 79 yards when Weeden was injured in the game against the Denver Broncos.

The Browns traded him to the San Francisco 49ers on April 1, 2013. The following year, on April 3, 2014, he signed a one-year contract with the Washington Redskins. The contract was re-signed on March 17, 2015 and extended to three years on March 9, 2016.

The quarterback will continue to play for the Redskins in 2019 after inking a one-year, $7 million contract extension with the team.

his salary

Earlier in his career with the Cleveland Browns, Colt McCoy penned a four-year, $5 million contract and received a $751,000 signing bonus. On April 1, 2013, he was traded to San Francisco along with a 2013 sixth-round pick in exchange for the 2013 seventh-round and fifth-round picks in San Francisco. After that, there was a review of his salary from $1.5 million to $630,000.

Colt McCoy Family – wife and brother

Colt McCoy is married to former middle-distance athlete Rachel Glandorf for Baylor University. The duo met in Austin, Texas in the summer of 2008 while Rachel was an intern for Keye TV. She had interviewed the soccer star on various occasions before McCoy decided to ask her out.

Their relationship blossomed and on January 12, 2010, shortly after his team lost the 2010 BCS National Championship game, McCoy became engaged to Rachel. It was an emotional moment when McCoy brought his girlfriend onto the field on the video board at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin and showed her the jumbotron that said the question. “Rachel, I love you! Will you marry me? Colt. “Rachel, who was pleasantly surprised and completely in love, said ‘yes’.

About half a year later, on July 17, 2010, the couple walked the thread in an extravagant ceremony in which singers such as Aaron Watson and Jordan Shipley performed musically. Their union was blessed with two beautiful daughters – Sloane and Brooke; and a son.

The NFL player has two younger brothers, Fall McCoy and Chance McCoy. Having an older brother who was interested in sports likely upset Colt’s brothers as they both played college football. While Chance was studying at Abilene Christian University, where he played at grassroots level, Case, like his older brother, played quarterback for the University of Texas Longhorns football team, but left football after graduating. He currently resides in Austin where he works as a tenant broker specialist at HPI Corporate Services.
