Aaryn, the 19-year-old daughter of American stand-up comedian and TV host, Rickey Smiley, was shot three times during a road incident in Houston, Texas over the weekend, as revealed by Smiley on his “Rickey Smiley Morning Show” on Monday, July 6. He emotionally expressed his anger and concern for his daughter’s well-being.
Smiley further explained that his daughter was caught in the crossfire while going to Whataburger for a meal on Sunday night, July 5.
Later, Smiley provided an update on Instagram, informing that his daughter had successfully undergone an operation and thanked everyone for their prayers.
In a statement to USA TODAY, the Houston Police Department confirmed the incident, stating that Rickey’s daughter and three men were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
“The three men were in a vehicle at a stop light… when an unknown vehicle passed them,” the Houston police statement said. “The occupant(s) of the vehicle began shooting multiple times, wounding the three men. A female passenger in an unrelated vehicle was also struck.”
