Debra Stewart Obituary, Death – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Debra Lynn Stewart, a beloved figure in our community and a dedicated preschool teacher. Born on January 5, 1964, to William and Gladys Sanderbeck in Pittsburgh, PA, Debbie peacefully left this world on February 3, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and education.
Debbie’s life was marked by her commitment to nurturing young minds. As a devoted preschool teacher, summer camp coordinator, and Sunday school teacher, she left an indelible mark on countless children’s lives with her kindness and patience. Her passion for education shone through every interaction, and her influence will resonate for generations.
Beyond her professional achievements, Debbie found her greatest joy in her family. She was the cherished wife of Michael, her devoted partner in life for 33 years. Together, they created a home characterized by laughter, love, and warmth. Debbie’s pride and joy were her daughter, Erin, and son-in-law, Kelvin. A pillar of strength and support, she provided guidance and unconditional love to her family, treasuring every moment spent with them.
Debbie will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, gentle spirit, and boundless love for her family and students. She is survived by her husband Michael (Kinston), daughter Erin and son-in-law Kelvin (Kinston), mother Gladys Sanderbeck (Pittsburgh, PA), brother Michael Sanderbeck (Houston, TX), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
While she may be physically gone, Debbie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. A visitation service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Garner Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Joseph Yaeger.
