The immediate majority leader of Ogun State House of Assembly, Yinka Mafe, has passed away.
Reports confirm Mafe’s sudden death on Tuesday, February 4th, shortly after marking his 46th birthday.
Following his birthday celebration, Mafe complained of chest pain and tragically succumbed to it soon after. His remains are now at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu.
Earlier in the day, the late lawmaker had organized a prayer session at his residence in Emuren as part of the birthday festivities. He also paid a visit to inmates and warders at the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Sagamu before the subsequent birthday event at Tenth Planet & Suites in Sagamu, attended by party faithful, well-wishers, associates, and his MafeLafe political team.
Born on February 4th, 1974, Mafe served as the Councillor of Ward three in Sagamu Local Government Legislative Council from December 1998 to 2002. He later represented Sagamu Constituency I (Ofin) at the State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2019 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), formerly known as Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
