AN older-style house on a 695 sqm parcel in Concord West has sold for $1.865 million at an auction that had developers licking their lips.
With a large frontage and potential for a duplex (subject to council approval), the site was always tipped to sell to a developer and did just that — for $165,000 over reserve.
The house at 322 Concord Rd attracted 12 groups through the inspections and 19 contracts were issued.
There were seven registered bidders, with four choosing to compete in front of a crowd of 40.
Bidding opened at $1.5 million and progressed in increments of $50,000, $25,000, $10,000 and $5000.
The current home has four large bedrooms, a formal loungeroom, an open plan kitchen and an outdoor pergola.
It was sold by Craig Stokes and Jessica Maguire of Devine Real Estate, who said the interest was high, resulting in a great outcome.
