The cause of death of ‘Euphoria’ actor, Angus Cloud, has been disclosed.
According to a Northern California coroner office, the American actor passed away in July due to an accidental overdose of cocaine, fentanyl, and other substances.
The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau stated that Cloud’s cause of death was “acute intoxication” resulting from the “combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and benzodiazepines.” The office confirmed the overdose was accidental.
The actor was declared dead at his parents’ home on July 31 in Oakland. He was 25.
In a statement at the time, his family shared that Cloud had been struggling with the loss of his father.
Cloud’s family stated, “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
Cloud was known for portraying the kindhearted, fan-favorite drug dealer Fezco on HBO’s Emmy-winning drama series, Euphoria, created by Sam Levinson and starring Zendaya.
The official Twitter page of the series expressed its condolences, “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
