Exploring Everspace 2: The Ultimate Walkthrough

Everspace 2, developed and published by ROCKFISH Games, takes players on a single-player space combat and exploration journey across a vast universe featuring diverse star systems, factions, and spacecraft. Here is a brief walkthrough to kickstart your adventure:

Embarking on The Wingman (Part 1) Mission

Your journey in Everspace 2 begins with The Wingman (Part 1) mission, where you’ll receive a tutorial before diving into the action-packed gameplay. Follow the mining convoy, execute various maneuvers, and combat the Hydra infestation obstructing a gate. Loot containers, defeat outlaw ships, and equip new weapons to progress through this exciting mission.

Navigating Through Flying Blind Mission

Following The Wingman (Part 1), embark on the Flying Blind mission where you must disable Jump Suppressors to continue your escape. Combat hostiles, disable suppressors, and navigate through various obstacles to complete this mission successfully.

Tackling From Scratch Task

After completing Flying Blind, engage in the From Scratch task where you discover new ship devices implanted by Dax. Collect resources and enhance your skills to prepare for upcoming challenges in Everspace 2.

Conquering The Edge of the Universe Mission

In The Edge of the Universe mission, you must activate devices to divert enemy radars. Navigate through different zones, combat adversaries, and strategically fulfill objectives to progress in your space exploration journey.

As you advance in Everspace 2, be prepared for thrilling encounters, challenging missions, and captivating storytelling that will keep you engrossed in this action-packed space adventure. Gear up, explore the vast universe, and uncover the mysteries that await in Everspace 2.

If you haven’t acquired the item at The Flying Dutchess, head to the homebase Storage tab and equip the Plating to progress with the quest.

Journey Begins

Once you’ve completed The Edge of the Universe task, the In Transit quest commences. Return to Union Bridge, where a trade post is located. Here, you can purchase a Primesense STA item for 4,200 credits. The trader at this post offers you a job initially for 2,500 credits, which later increases to 3,500 credits.

  • Upon acquiring the Primesense STA

Leave the trading outpost once you have the Primesense STA to trigger a cutscene with Dax. Since there are no medical stations in the system, you’ll need a medical pod. Head to the Nerea Transit Point to find the medical supplies amidst the convoy ships being inspected in a cutscene upon arrival.

To locate the medical supplies, search each indicated convoy ship by pilfering a connected container without getting scanned more than once, as the AI will attack. The key is to hack the terminal linked to each scanning bay.

  • Bypass the Distribution Terminal

Fly to a nearby distribution terminal and interact with it to trigger a cutscene that initiates the security system. Use the Energised Boost device to escape rival fire and jump safely out of the area. Return to the home base to encounter another cutscene with Dax.

Spare Parts & Wreckage

In Transit, Dax will direct you to Nephtys Plains for jump keys once you’ve completed the task. Use your Jump Drive to reach the location where you’ll find outlaws attacking a G&B station. This is where you can make your initial ship purchases in Everspace 2. Dock at the Nephtys Plains Station after dealing with the bandit ships to converse with Officer Shaw.

Prior to advancing the Spares & Scrap mission, you can engage in additional tasks at the station to gain faction rank and benefits.

  • Handle the Mine Raiders

Exit the station to confront local bandits. Officer Shaw implies that eliminating the bandits could result in obtaining jump keys. Utilize the Cruise Drive to gain altitude for better visibility, particularly while dealing with the raiders near the crystal cavern and desert mine entrance. Destroy the Outlaw Detonator Drones and clear the mine before returning to the surface post completion.

You’ll face an Elite Outlaw Scout with heavy armor inside the mine. Employ high-kinetic-damage weapons for effective combat. Return to Officer Shaw at the Nephtys Plains Station once the scout is defeated.

  • Head to Charybdis Bowl for Jump Keys

To progress with the Spares & Scrap mission of locating jump keys, venture to Charybdis Bowl where a junkyard is situated with a wrecked jump gate surrounded by wreckage. Search the area thoroughly to discover secret containers, one of which is near a sizable jump gate ring. Retrieve the “Jump Gate Module” container to advance the mission. Prepare for a Jump Suppressor signal that foils your jump attempt.

  • Locating the Jump Suppressor Signal

Navigate towards the suppressor while using the Cruise Drive. If the percentage increases, you’re on the right path but you may get stuck amidst additional wreckage. Negotiate laser traps and shut doors as you delve deeper underground to disarm a blue forcefield, which reveals a closed section housing Shield Generators waiting to be destroyed. Leave the facility after disabling the forcefield and converse with the AI, Banjack, before docking at the nearby G&B Scrapyard station.

  • Return to Rhodia II’s Central Hub

If you are unable to secure jump keys, return to Rhodia II. Upon reaching home, Dax updates you that the doctor in the medical pod has awakened. Witness a cutscene lacking voice acting upon entering the home base.

Hunt for Ceto Ghosts

To proceed, procure an HIVE unit required for jumping. Start by locating three distractor bases impeding the path of a Ceto Ghost Fleet.

The first uncharted area features an abandoned ship with Outlaw Turrets and an adjacent Outlaw Viper (Leader) ship. You can destroy the Viper for a Location Challenge and valuable loot. Move to the next zone once you realize there’s no distractor base here.

In the second location, a heavily guarded distractor base awaits. Battle sniper drones, detonating drones, and several turrets before dismantling the structures within. Take down the station core after eliminating the specified structures to progress to the next base.

Upon reaching the second distractor base, follow similar tactics as employed in the earlier base assault. Beware of drones and turrets that can pose a threat. After neutralizing the base constructions, proceed to eliminate the now exposed station core.
Deal with two fuel tanks, four energy coils, and three turrets.

  • Back to Rhodia II’s Main Hub

Your latest quest directs you back to the home base to learn the location of the final distractor base. Upon return, Dax discloses that the last distractor is located at Palaemon’s Wound. Prepare your ship and stock up before embarking on this perilous journey with Dax.

  • Meet Dax at Palaemon’s Wound.

To progress with the Ceto Ghost Hunt, vanquish ships and structures in a similar manner as before. Dax can hold his own in combat. Exercise caution while dealing with the Outlaw Destroyer ship as it has formidable health. Ensure you eliminate all structures as listed here before proceeding. If faced with Bomb Throwers, catch and return the bombs they deploy to neutralize them.

Destroy the shield and then you can shoot it.
9 Tanks of Fuel, 7 Power Coils, 1 Missile Silo, 2 Bomb Dispensers, 1 Core Station

Upon eliminating all three distractor bases, proceed towards the Ghost Fleet destination. Expect some outlaws on patrol in the vicinity as you start scouting for AI Unit containers. Post exploring three AI Unit containers, the Bloodstar Chief, also known as the gas mask, will make an appearance. Be ready for your initial assignment by adhering to our guidance below.

  • Union Bridge Jump Gate Hack

Accompany Dax to the Union Bridge jump gate. You’ll have to hack the gate due to the abandoned HIVE unit still exhibiting an odd behavior. Track the mission marker leading to the terminal on the right side of the gate. Interact with it to hack it, triggering another cutscene. Following a brief interlude, a mysterious ship will arrive, surprising both Dax and the gate. Post the cutscene, you’ll confront the mysterious Elite G&B Fighter.

As the fighter sustains enough damage, it will teleport a distance away. Utilize your Cruise Drive to approach the conflict as recommended. Eventually, you’ll receive a directive to rendezvous with Dax, leading to a cutscene. Once you return to the homebase with the doctor, another cutscene will ensue.

Reconnecting

  • Union Bridge Gate Traverse

Retrace your steps to the Union Bridge to access the Ceto Transit Gate. Upon reaching the opposite side, a new ally, the HIVE unit, will join you. Should your inventory frequently overflow, the Autonomous Cargo Dispatcher proves to be a useful addition. Proceed to Prescott Starbase where you’ll seek out a man named Maddocks.

Not only is Prescott Starbase a remarkable city, but it also houses a variety of new ships and items at the numerous shops.

  • Encounter Daryl and Journey to Cephas Downs

Embark on a trip to Kato Palace to meet Daryl and delve deeper into Maddocks’ whereabouts. Before Daryl discloses Maddocks’ location, you must fulfill a task designated by him. Depart Prescott Starbase and head to Cephas Downs, following the mission marker into an underground settlement.

Landing at the deserted settlement marks the conclusion of the primary plot in Everspace 2 early access and wraps up the Old Friends task. Prior to leaving the settlement, explore the adjacent container for a quest item. The item found is a letter meant for the proprietor of the Flying Dutchess within the Cephas Cabernet Sauvignon. Returning it to her may result in a reward.

Everspace 2 Walkthrough

The on-screen instructions during this tutorial are crystal clear and easily understandable. Pay close attention to them as you progress. Certain controls like boosting and firing may be restricted until required by the tutorial. Stick with the caravan until one of the miners (Krazinski) reports engine trouble. Assist Ben in reaching him and wait for him to repair it.

Ben will illustrate movement techniques, so be attentive to his directives. The controls you need to use will be displayed on-screen. Await the completion of the conversation with Calahan before eliminating the hydras (green/blue aquatic plants) at the entrance. They pose no threat, firing only a shot or two. Once cleared, navigate through the tunnel to the core of the mine. Destroy the wrecks and hydras on the walls along the way.

Although there are lootable containers and wrecks in sight, inspecting them is futile since everything is lost after the task. As you reach the tunnel’s conclusion, a breakable wall obstructs access to the core entrance. Utilize a missile to breach it, prompting an Outlaw drone to emerge, necessitating destruction.

Subsequently, you must hack a console to unlock the succeeding door. An Outlaw Ravager lies concealed behind the pillar on the right within the core. The Bloodstar leader of an Outlaw clan is situated inside. Initially mistaking Hero for a rescue squad member, he soon discerns the true identity and attacks. While boasting considerable HP, he isn’t overly challenging to eliminate. Upon defeat, a level 1 coil gun, a rare find, is dropped.

As Calahan and the miners appear subsequently, a massive drill creates an opening in the asteroid for an Outlaw Scout, drones, and Webber drones to infiltrate. The miners are invulnerable at this moment. Following their defeat, Ben will provide nanobots. Subsequently, break three security bolts along the drill hole’s edge. After their destruction, the hatch unlocks for passage.

Upon exiting the area, a brief cinematic will showcase a skirmish outside between a G&B patrol and a sizable Outlaw contingent led by an Outlaw Destroyer. No obligatory combat is required for this part of the mission. Approach Ben once he starts burning. Nearing him will culminate in the end of the mission and the initiation of an animation cinematic portraying Hero’s capture.
