A tragic incident shook the community when the lifeless body of 2-year-old Taylen Mosley was discovered inside an alligator’s mouth, one day after his mother had been found murdered in Florida.

Taylen’s father, Thomas Mosley, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in relation to the deaths of the child and his mother, 20-year-old Pashun Jeffery.

The St. Petersburg Police Chief, Anthony Holloway, revealed that the authorities came upon the horrifying scene on March 31st, where an alligator had the toddler’s body in its mouth. Subsequently, the officers had to intervene, firing shots at the alligator to retrieve the child. The reptile was later euthanized by the police.

Expressing his regret, Holloway conveyed, “We are sorry it has had to end this way,” during a press conference. The police are yet to determine the circumstances of Taylen’s death and how he ended up in the lake.

The investigation unfolded after Pashun Jeffery was found dead from multiple stab wounds in her apartment on March 30th. The police described the crime scene as “a very violent crime scene”.

Neighbors had reportedly heard a disturbance near the apartment the previous night but did not alert the authorities. The boy’s father, Mosley, had sought medical attention at a local hospital on that same night, presenting cuts on his arms and hands. He remains in the hospital and has refused to cooperate with the authorities.
