A flight attendant’s lips were left resembling the bottom of a baboon after a failed lip filler treatment.
Olivia McCann, 21, from Chorley, Lancashire, shared how her lips expanded to three times their size and appeared on the verge of bursting after a dissolving procedure.
Despite being reassured by the beautician that the swelling was normal, Olivia was so horrified by the outcome that she secluded herself at home for four days and declined video calls from her boyfriend.
In 2019, Olivia had a successful lip filler at a different salon. Subsequently, she sought treatment with a different filler elsewhere and was advised to dissolve leftover product first. During this £100 procedure in March 2020, her lips were injected with dissolver and vigorously massaged, resulting in the expansion.
Due to the appearance of her lips post-treatment, Olivia wore sunglasses to avoid being recognized and had to miss two days of work.
This isn’t Olivia’s first experience with lip filler mishaps. Over two years, she has encountered problems at various salons, including swelling, lumpiness, and uneven distribution of filler.
Olivia is now sharing photos of her recent ordeal to encourage others to conduct thorough research before undergoing invasive cosmetic procedures following lockdown.
Although her lips eventually returned to their normal size, the experience hasn’t deterred her from considering cosmetic surgery. She stated that she would still undergo a procedure again.
