Gary began life as a child named William GaryBusey – born in 1944 on June 29 in Goose Creek, Texas, USA. He was raised by his parents: an American father; Delmer Lloyd Busey who was a construction project manager and his Irish wife Sadie Virginia (née Arnett) who in her day was a housewife. The actor has siblings – a sister named Carol Barraza and brother David Busey.
He was enrolled at Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was a well-known prolific football player and graduated in 1962. After graduating, Gary Busey earned a football scholarship from Pittsburg State University located in Pittsburgh, Kansas. He began studying in college but soon began to take a closer interest in acting. So he withdrew from Pitt State and enrolled at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Unfortunately, Gary left OSU just one class before his college graduation.
Although William called it quits with school when he was nearing the end of college, his decision soon began to pay off years later when he began to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry. He started his career as a drummer in a band called The Rubber Band. Gary also played in another band called Carp and was involved in two show business ventures before coming to prominence with his film debut.
The actor had rave reviews for his role in a supporting role on Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974) with Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges. Gary Busey had a major appearance there in several other notable works of the 70s, which continued into the 80s, 90s and on to the present.
Busey made appearances in films and television series such as Foolin’ Around (1980) as the character Wes, in 1995’s Man with a Gun, The Outer Limits ; episode: “Revival” (2000), Two and a Half Men ; episode: “Frodo’s Headshots” as himself and 2018 The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time.

However, in 1990, when she was 19, her parents divorced. He followed his father’s career as he entered the entertainment industry as an actor, musician, and film producer.

In 2010, her fiancé Steffanie Sampson bore her a son named Luke Sampson Busey.
