BIOGRAPHY
He studied at the Goodman Theater School, University of Chicago. Within a year of graduating, Ella Gillian was performing in Off-Broadway plays while working as a waitress. After small roles in film, with The Turning (1992), and on television with Class of 96 (1993), Anderson landed the role that would define her career: Dana Scully, in the television series The X-Files (1993-2018) . ) and two feature films The X-Files: The Movie (1998) and The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008). For this role she won an Emmy and a Golden Globe. We have also seen her in Heart Games (1998), The Last King of Scotland (2006), Mr. Morgan’s Last Great Love (2013), My Ex is a Spy (2018), and series such as Hannibal (2013-2015), The Fall (2013-2016), American Gods (2017) and Sex Education (2019-2020), among others. In 2020 Gillian joined the cast of The Crown as Margaret Thatcher, a performance for which she won the Golden Globe in the category of Best Supporting Actress in 2021.
