In response to rumors that Godswill Akpabio collapsed during a colloquium to mark his 61st birthday in Abuja, his media team has issued a statement denying the allegations.
The statement signed by Eseme Eyiboh refuted the claims, dismissing them as exaggerated and fictionalized stories. It described the reports as “fictionalised extensions of the Senate President’s assertion of being tired at the end of the programme.”
The media team expressed concern over the spread of these rumors by certain social media channels known for promoting fake news.
The statement emphasized that Akpabio spoke for over 30 minutes at the event and that his expression of tiredness after the program ended was misconstrued as a fainting spell or collapse.
In response to claims that Akpabio was in critical condition at the National Hospital, the statement firmly declared that these allegations were entirely untrue. It stated that Akpabio was not rushed to the hospital or indisposed, apart from feeling exhausted.
