Goonies Plot

The Goonies is a 1985 American adventure comedy film that Richard Donner co-produced and directed. Its story was developed by Steven Spielberg, who also served as executive producer, and Chris Columbus, who wrote the script. In the movie, young people from Astoria, Oregon's "Goon Docks" neighborhood attempt to prevent their homes from going into foreclosure by discovering an old treasure map that sends them on a mission to find the long-lost money of a fabled 17th-century pirate named One-Eyed Willy. A family of thieves is after them since they want the treasure for themselves throughout the excursion. The film, which was made by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment and released in theatres on June 7, 1985, in the United States, has subsequently gained cult status.
