Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia expressed his delight at Lobi Stars’ position on the Nigeria Premier Football League table during a courtesy visit of the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau and his entourage to Government House in Makurdi.

During the visit, he made a promise that the Lobi Stars’ home ground, Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, would be fixed in a short time to enable the team to play all their matches in the state. Currently, Lobi Stars are adopting the Lafia City Stadium as their home ground for the ongoing Nigeria Premier League season.

The Pride of Benue currently occupies the second position on the NPFL table, and Governor Alia assured, “I can confirm that the Commissioner of Youths, Sports and Creativity has been on my neck. Very soon Lobi Stars Football Club will return to Aper Aku Stadium, even before the League season runs out.”

Lobi Stars will compete against Akwa United in a matchday 13 fixture on Sunday.
