BIOGRAPHY
Born March 27, 2000 in Atlanta, Halle Bailey was passionate about music from an early age. With her older sister, Chloe , she began writing and composing songs, to the point of launching a YouTube channel when they were 13 and 11 years old. Their duo, under the name Chloe x Halle, generates millions of views thanks to song covers and their idol, Beyoncé herself, spotted them and signed them in 2015 to her label, Parkwood Entertainment.
The family then moved to Los Angeles. After a first EP in 2013 composed entirely of covers, Chloe x Halle released a second in 2016, the first consisting of original tracks. They continued their rise by opening for Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour, and by increasing the number of magazine front pages and collaborations with other artists.
Halle Bailey’s career continues to be inseparable from that of her sister: the two young women released two albums ( The Kids Are Alright and Ungodly Hour ) and played twins from 2018 to 2022 in the series Grown-ish , spin- off of Black-ish .
In 2019, Halle Bailey was chosen to play Ariel in the live adaptation of The Little Mermaid by Disney Studios. An announcement which is not unanimous and generates numerous hostile reactions. The feature film, directed by Rob Marshall , can be seen on screens four years later. The young actress is expected in 2024 in The Color Purple , a new adaptation of the novel by Alice Walker , already brought to the screen by Steven Spielberg .
