Her father built his career as a golf instructor. He managed the Fresno State Athletics and the California State University golf team. Also, Josh, her only brother, is currently a golf star building his college career. She is also directly related to Nick Watney, the famous professional golfer.

Heidi Watney began her athletic career for ESPN Radio 1430 KFIG as the host of sports talk radio in Fresno, while subsequently rotating between jobs to be a weekend sports anchor for KMPH-TV.
The amazing athlete later left radio stations and began working as a local reporter for the Boston Red Sox. As they say, hard work pays off; With her hard work, she began championing The Red Sox Report and The Ultimate Red Sox Show on the New England Sports Network (NESN).While NESN was enjoying her layoffs, she accepted a job offer as a sideline journalist for Time Warner Cable SportsNet in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the athlete moved from California to Los Angeles to pursue her big dreams. After briefly working for the Time Warner Cable SportsNet, Heidi Watney joined the MLB network. She then went on to host the MLB Network’s show Fast Pitch Weekdays. She has proven loyalty with the show from 2013 to date.
