The passing of Magoo, an American rapper known for his collaboration with hip-hop artist Timbaland, has been reported at the age of 50. The tragic news was shared by fellow R&B star and music producer Digital Black through an Instagram post. He posted a picture of Magoo and Timbaland’s 1997 album, expressing disbelief and grief. The duo, known as Timbaland & Magoo, formed their partnership in 1989 when they were teenagers and went on to release three albums. Their hit single “Up Jumps Da Boogie” garnered significant attention, and they were also recognized for their work with Missy Elliott. In 2021, the entire Timbaland & Magoo catalog, including “Tim’s Bio: Life from the Basement” originally released in 1998, was re-released through a collaboration between Blackground Records and Empire Distribution. This allowed their music to reach wider audiences through streaming platforms for the first time since its initial release.
