Authorities from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps have apprehended Malam Isah Ibrahim, a 45-year-old man, for running an illegal brothel in Zamfara state.
The suspect, who has been operating in this illegal trade for over a decade, was found to be utilizing a property inherited from his late parents. The premises is situated in Ungwan Gwaza Community, behind the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.
Upon confessing to the illicit activities, the suspect admitted to employing underage girls and married women, facilitating their engagement with male clients. He disclosed that he received a minimal fee of five hundred naira from each customer who engaged with the women under his control, with the women themselves receiving only two or three thousand naira per encounter.
The NSCDC has announced that the suspect will face charges of forced labor and the exploitation of minors for immoral purposes under the penal code section 278, following the conclusion of their investigations.
