BIOGRAPHY
James Earl Jones was born on January 17, 1931 in Arkabutla, Mississippi. From a very early age, he began taking theater classes on medical recommendation since he had a slight stutter.
During the 60s and 70s he became an essential figure on Broadway. He won a Tony Award for playing a boxer in The Great White Hope. He began participating in television projects and in 1964, he debuted on the big screen with a small role in Stanley Kubrick’s film, Dr. Strangelove.
His best-known role is perhaps that of Darth Vader, in the original Star Wars trilogy he only did the voice, since the person in charge of wearing the suit was David Prowse, whose voice was dubbed by his accent. He appeared in the animated series The Simpsons (1989) and played Mufasa in The Lion King (1994). He returned as the voice of Darth Vader in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016).
