Jesse Lee Soffer is an American actor who is the most active on the small screen. Initially, we literally watched Soffer grow up on our screens. Soffer gained wide recognition from Will Munson on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns, a role that earned him 3 Emmy nominations. In recent years, he’s best known as the hunky detective in the NBC drama Chicago PD. Soffer also stars in related shows such as Chicago Fire and Chicago Med.

Jesse Lee Soffer was born on April 23, 1984 in Ossining, New York to Stan Soffer and Jill B. Hindes. He has four siblings namely; Melisa Soffer, Jenna Hindes, Craig Soffer, Shayne A. Hindes. His family moved to Tarrytown before settling in Connecticut, where Soffer spent most of his early years attending The Gunnery private coeducational boarding school. At school, Soffer was an active athlete. He played football and in his senior year made the all-star team. He graduated in 2002 before attending New York University.
Soffer’s love for acting grew when he was just a kid. At the age of 6, he landed his very first gig in an advertisement for Kix cereal. At age 8, Soffer made her Hollywood debut in the feature film Matinee (1993).

Subsequent films: Safe Passage (1994), The Brady Bunch Movie (1995) and A Very Brady Sequel (1996). Soffer got his first recurring TV role on Two of a Kind alongside the famous Olsen twins. After another recurring role on Guiding Light (1999), Soffer took a short break to focus on her senior high school studies.
He returned to acting in 2004 with a role in AsThe World Turns, which became his big opportunity, earning him 3 Emmy Award nominations for Best Actor in a Drama Series (2006, 2007, 2008), as well as a nomination at the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Leading Actor (2005).
Soffer returned to acting in 2007 and appeared in the sports drama film Gracie as Johnny Bowen. Soffer however remains more active on the small screen appearing in TV movies and guest starring in several TV series including CSI: Miami (2008), The Philanthropist (2009), The Mentalist (2011) and a starring role in Doctor Mob. .
In 2013, Soffer landed the role of Jay Halstead in the second season of Chicago Fire. He then became one of the main characters in the first Chicago PD spin-off.

“I did a lot of deadlifts and squats to gain strength. And then I push a sled across a huge grass field at the end of practice sessions. It’s rough!
