Jesse Williams’ birthplace is Chicago, Illinois, and he was born on August 5, 1981. His mother Johanna Chase is of Swedish background while his father Reginald Williams is an African American of Seminole descent. He received his early education at the Moses Brown School in Rhode Island, graduating in 1998. He went to Temple University and completed a double degree in film and media arts and in African American Studies. After graduating, he joined the Philadelphia Public School System and taught high school English, African Studies, and American Studies for six years.

Jesse Williams comes from a multi-racial background and has two brothers. The actor appears to be the only one in his household ready to achieve superstar status. Jesse made his TV debut as Kwame in a 2006 episode of Law & Order. His roles in ABC Family show Greek and TV series Beyond the Break around the same time were also memorable.
In 2008, he received worldwide acclaim after landing his first starring role as Holden McCrea in the horror film The Cabin in the Wood.
By 2009, the talented star became a household name for his role in the TV series Grey’s Anatomy . Before he started watching television, Jesse had a few theatrical performances such as The American Dream revival production in 1996 and The Sandbox.
