Reports indicate that a Jewish educational consultant at Kanye West’s Donda Academy private school has resigned following his anti-Semitic outbursts, just months after the school opened its doors.
Dr. Tamar Andrews, 57, stepped down from her role at Donda Academy, located in Simi Valley, California, due to the rapper’s series of social media posts, according to Mail Online.
She had been serving as a consultant at the confidential preparatory school, which charges annual fees of $15,000. However, she had to resign after West, 45, made several anti-Semitic outbursts, leading to his dismissal by sportswear giant Adidas.
According to the president of Temple Isaiah of LA, where Andrews is a director, she resigned from Donda Academy in response to Ye West’s tweet. Her last day was October 11, 2022, as she felt she could no longer support the organization, as stated in a release to The Hollywood Reporter.
West claimed that 82 pupils have been enrolled in the exclusive school, with two families stating that they were obliged to sign nondisclosure agreements, aligning with the school’s secretive nature.
Malik Yusef, a producer and longtime collaborator of West, expressed the rapper’s seriousness about the project. Dr. Andrews had previously defended the school’s requirement for parents to sign an NDA, referring to it as an ‘informal agreement’ to Rolling Stone.
She stated, ‘Honestly, we don’t care if people know about the school. The people that want to come to the school are looking for a good Christian school in that area and they know that we’re there. There is also a certain notoriety that comes with being affiliated with Donda. So, I don’t know that we have to advertise, which is a blessing and a curse.’
Shortly after, Kanye lost his billionaire status after being dropped by Adidas amidst the mounting backlash over his anti-Semitic rants. The rapper’s $220 million annual deal with the German sports brand, valued at $1.5 billion in total, was terminated due to his controversial behavior.
