BIOGRAPHY
Joel Basman began his career and played a bold teenager named Zizou in the weekly soap opera Lüthi und Blanc (2004). He soon began to attract the attention of the public and critics: in February 2008 he won the Shooting Star award for his role as a Russian teenager in the film Luftibus, written by director Dominque de Rivaz, and in September 2008, he received the Schweizer Fernsehpreis (Swiss Television Award) in the film category. The following years he participated in several film and television projects, including Hanna (2011) and the 2015 war film, Under the Sand . In 2018, Basman played the lead role in The Awakening of Motti Wolkenbruch , a film distributed by Netflix that follows a young man pressured to marry an Orthodox Jewish woman who falls in love with someone who will not have the approval of her mother. Basman was part of King’s Man: The Origin , the prequel film to Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014).
