John Ritter was an actor from the United States. For his work in Three's Company, he won a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 1984. Ritter starred in over a hundred films and television shows and performed on Broadway.

Ben Hanscom in It (1990), Problem Child (1990), Problem Child 2 (1991), and Bad Santa in 2003 are some of his other significant roles. In his final roles, he voiced the title character on the PBS children's show Clifford the Big Red Dog (2000–2003), for which he was nominated for four Daytime Emmy Awards. He had a comeback in his career at his death, thanks to the TV sitcom 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.

John Ritter, a popular TV and movie performer, died of an aortic dissection, unnoticed in his heart. Aortic dissection is a condition in which tissues within the aorta walls, the main blood artery that transports blood from the heart to the rest of the body, separate abnormally. Aortic dissection causes a weakening of the blood vessel wall, which might burst. At the time of his death, he was 54 years old. Ritter died after getting ill on the set of his new sitcom, according to reports. At the time of dissection, the pain usually comes on suddenly. Between the shoulders and back, the discomfort is "typically characterized as ripping or tearing and as the worst anguish ever experienced."

When Did John Ritter Die?
In 2003, Ritter died of an aortic dissection, an unknown abnormality in his heart. Ritter felt unwell and began experiencing cardiac difficulties on September 11, 2003, while practicing for 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter in California. He was brought to the Medical Center across the street because he was sweating, vomiting, and complaining of chest pain. Ritter was diagnosed with an aortic dissection, and he underwent surgery to repair the dissection, but he died shortly after. On September 15, 2003, a private funeral was performed in Los Angeles.

John Ritter Career
Ritter made his cinematic debut in The Barefoot Executive, a Disney picture released in 1971. He appeared in episodes of Hawaii Five-O, M*A*S*H, and many other shows as a guest star. Gramps (1995), Rob Hedden's The Colony (1995), Stephen King's It, Danielle Steel's Heartbeat, and It Came from the Sky in 1999 were among Ritter's many made-for-TV films. Ritter also appeared in episodes of Felicity, Ally McBeal, Scrubs, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, among others.

He also garnered four Emmy nominations for his portrayal as the titular character in the animated children's show Clifford the Big Red Dog and its animated film adaptation Clifford's Really Big Movie (2004). Stanley's Dinosaur Round-Up (2006), dedicated to his memory, was his final film. He appeared in 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter when he died.
