BIOGRAPHY
José Alonso is a Mexican actor recognized as one of the main figures of the small screen and “new Mexican cinema.” He has more than 50 years of experience in which he has demonstrated great acting versatility, both on the small screen and in cinema. He appeared in soap operas such as Cartas para una Victim in 1978, Monte Calvario in 1986, Con todo el alma in 1995, La hija del jardinador in 2003, Vidas Robadas in 2010 and Así en el barrio como en el cielo in 2015. Also in films praised by critics such as The Task (1991) and Mujeres insumisas (1995), for which Ariel Plata received nominations for Best Male Performance. He finally won the statuette in the category for Best Male Co-Acting for his work in Chronicles of a Breakfast (2000). His most recent project is in the romantic comedy Through thick and thin (2019) by director Gabriel Barragan Senties.
