BIOGRAPHY
Originally from New York, Judy Reyes spent her childhood in the Bronx neighborhood. Aspiring to an artistic profession, from the beginning of the 1990s she participated in successful American series such as New York – Judicial Police , New York Police Blues and the Cosby Show .
Following these first experiences, she landed several small roles in the cinema, notably in Roland Emmerich ‘s Godzilla with Matthew Broderick and Jean Reno . The 2000s then marked a first turning point in her life, since she joined the cast of ever more prestigious series, such as The Sopranos , Oz and more particularly Scrubs , where she played nurse Carla Espinosa until 2009. With this recognition, she multiplies her performances on television in Castle and Medium , while continuing her cinematographic projects. In 2011, she met Eva Longoria on the set of the comedy Without Men . Two years later, the actress landed the role of her television career in the series Devious Maids , produced by the former Desperate Housewife . She plays Zoila, the mother of Valentina Diaz, who tries to protect her daughter as best she can from rich men whom she thinks are incapable of the slightest feeling towards a modest servant.
