The mainstream media has unearthed lesser known facts about Julie, who was born on January 9, 1973 in South Carolina as Julie Hughes to a Baptist father, Reverend Harvey Hughes Jr and mother, Hix Hughes.

Julie had a brother called Harvey Hughes III who committed suicide on May 6, 2002 at the age of 25.

Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012. She revealed to Hello Magazine: “I was diagnosed on March 5; I had my double mastectomy on March 22. ”

She also revealed that, despite having no family history, she undertook research into the disease immediately after diagnosis.

“I wasted no time…the minute I was diagnosed I started to research…I had to do what was best for me and my family. I didn’t want to place the burden on my children any more than I had to. I had teenagers and a 6 year old,” Julie said.

On Todd’s suggestion, Julie decided to get a mammogram and luckily she fought the cancer. She said hello; “I’m really glad I went when I went… If I had waited another year, [the odds] might not have been what they were.”

Julie now lives without cancer.

Julie Chrisley married, divorce

Julie’s simple trailer park life took a turn when she started dating famous real estate businessman Todd Chrisley in the early 90s. high school sweetheart. The couple married after Teresa became pregnant at 19.

Teresa gave birth to Todd’s two oldest children, Lindsie (b. 1990) and Kyle (b. 1991), the latter now estranged from his father.

After Todd and Teresa separated, Todd married Julie, who became his business partner. Together, they were both able to build a real estate empire worth millions of dollars.
