BIOGRAPHY
Revealed by the Mickey Mouse Club where she rubbed shoulders with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake , among others , Keri Russell began her career as an actress at a very young age. In 1992, she appeared for the first time on the big screen alongside Rick Moranis in Cherie, I enlarged the baby before going on to small roles both in the cinema ( Neighbor of the Heart , 1998) and on television ( Pacific Color ).
However, it was on the small screen that she achieved recognition from 1998 onwards thanks to the series Felicity , a bittersweet chronicle about young adults which rests almost exclusively on her shoulders. Her performance, both recognized by the public and the profession (she won the Golden Globe Awards for best actress in a drama series), then opened the doors to major productions (We Were Soldiers alongside Mel Gibson in 2002) .
However, it was at that moment that the actress decided to take a break from her career, which she resumed a year later with the comedy-drama The Benefits of Anger by Mike Binder where she played a young woman in conflict with an alcoholic mother played by Joan Allen . Then contacted by JJ Abrams , creator of the Felicity series , she then made an appearance in M:i:III in the guise of agent Lindsey Farris, partner of Tom Cruise , thus affirming her eclecticism.
Since then, the actress has devoted herself above all to more independent films like August Rush by Kristen Sheridan or Waitress directed by the late Adrienne Shelly , where she plays a young waitress full of dreams and illusions in search of happiness. She also tried her hand at horror with the disturbing Confession of a Cannibal where she plays a student passionate about the news story of consenting cannibalism which shook Germany in 2004.
In 2008, Keri Russell opposite Adam Sandler in the family comedy Enchanted Stories , before joining Edward Norton in Leaves of Grass by Tim Blake Nelson (2010). Later, she played the main roles in the horror Dark Skies and the romantic comedy Love at First Sight in Austenland. From 2013 (and until 2018), the actress returned to television screens for the series The Americans , where she played a KGB agent infiltrated in the USA in the middle of the Cold War.
At the same time, it is becoming rarer on the big screen. We still see her in the blockbusters Planet of the Apes and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker , the war film Free State Of Jones and the horror Starving . Set in 2023, Keri Russell plays the title character in the dark comedy Crazy Bear , where a cocaine-guzzling bear preys on a mismatched group of cops, criminals, tourists and teenagers in a deep forest from Georgia.
