Emergency services rushed to a reported shooting on Auckland's Dominion Rd early this morning, with one person in critical condition.
Police were called to the scene at about 12.53am, less than an hour into 2024.
"Police were called to Dominion Road... after reports a man had suffered a gunshot wound," a spokesperson said.
"He was transported to hospital in a critical condition.
"Police are making enquiries into the incident."

A St John spokesperson said two ambulances and two rapid response units attended the Mt Roskill scene.
"Our ambulance officers treated and transported one patient in a critical condition to Auckland City Hospital."
