During his honeymoon in Hillsborough County, Florida, a newly married man, Paul Turovsky, attempted to engage with a sex worker while away from his wife.
Reports indicate that he responded to an advertisement and arranged to meet with a woman at an undisclosed location.
Unbeknownst to him, the advertisement was part of an undercover police operation targeting human trafficking in the area.
A total of 176 individuals were arrested in the operation, during which underage victims were also discovered.
Sheriff Chad Chronister commented on the situation, humorously mentioning the duration of the marriage and the possibility of returning wedding gifts.
The husband has been charged with solicitation of prostitution and will appear in court later this year.
It is unclear what happened to his new wife after this incident.
Sheriff Chad discussed the operation, expressing the disturbing nature of the demand generated by their fake advertisement.
Other men captured
As part of the operation, two missing teenagers were located, one found sleeping in a car at a supermarket carpark and the other discovered at a hotel with an alleged trafficker.
Sheriff Chad also revealed that the overwhelming demand for their fake advert required them to secure additional hotel rooms to apprehend the individuals seeking illicit activities.
He stated, “We believe these two individuals, these two men are responsible for trafficking many more women. I’m not able to say more without jeopardizing the investigation.”
