BIOGRAPHY
Mariana Treviño is a Mexican film, theater and television actress, born in Monterrey.
In 1990, she entered the Higher School of Music and Dance of the National Institute of Fine Arts, INBA to study Contemporary Dance, and then studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater, in New York City and in the Berklee College of Music in Boston. She also studied Modern English Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UNAM.
During the time she lived in the United States, she participated in the productions of Words, Words, Words by David Ives, Tractor by Heiner Müller, and Homegirls on the Prowl by Cyn Cañel.
She became known thanks to her participation in the musical Mentiras , it was during this period that she caught the attention of director Manolo Cano and he invited her to participate in his film I don’t know whether to cut my veins or leave them long (2013). Professionally she is known for the films Amor de Mis Amores (2014), How to Break with Your Patán (2017) and the Netflix series Club de Cuervos (2015).
Her performance has earned her two Ariel nominations, one for Best Supporting Actress in The Immoral Life of the Ideal Couple and the other for Best Actress in a Minor Role in Mara’akame’s Dream .
