Former Chelsea goalkeeper, Mark Schwarzer, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance of Robert Sanchez for the Blues this season.

Schwarzer has pointed out Sanchez’s inconsistency and has suggested that Djordje Petrovic should be given a chance as the club’s number one at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to Football London, Schwarzer commented, “I have not been overly excited about the way that Robert Sanchez has played. I think there has been a lot of inconsistency.”

He added, “It is tough for any goalkeeper coming into that team at the moment because of the instability. They have obviously had a lot of injuries along the way, and obviously, Robert Sanchez is now one of those injured players. So it does give Petrovic an opportunity to stake a claim.”

Sanchez suffered an injury during Chelsea’s defeat to Everton recently and was replaced by Petrovic. The latter made an impact by saving a penalty in Chelsea’s penalty shootout win over Newcastle in the Carabao Cup.
