She only apologised on Twitter but didn

Michelle Alozie, a prominent player in the Super Falcons, has expressed her disappointment with Lauren James, a forward for the Three Lions of England, for not personally reaching out to apologize after an incident at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, where James stepped on Alozie’s buttocks, resulting in her being sent off in the 87th minute of the match.

Despite James offering an apology via her Twitter handle, Alozie revealed that James has not made any effort to contact her directly, contrary to speculation.

“No, she did not reach out to me but the apology was on Twitter and Instagram,” stated the Houston Dash star in an interview with Channels TV.

Since the incident, photos of the stomp have become common memes on the internet, a situation that Alozie finds “funny.”

“I think it was kind of funny how it all came about. After the game, obviously, I was really upset and wasn’t really looking at my phone,” shared Alozie, who was making her debut in the World Cup. “So, some of my teammates were like ‘Michelle, you have to see this photo of you maybe it would make you smile a little bit’ because I was kind of upset.”
