Following the death of his friend Pop Smoke, Mike Dee shared a message on Instagram.
Pop Smoke lost his life on Wednesday, February 19, during a home invasion where he was shot by masked intruders at his home in Hollywood Hills (read here).
To mourn his friend, Mike Dee posted photos of himself and Pop Smoke at different stages of their lives, expressing his grief.
Mike Dee’s message read:
“CAN’T EXPRESS THE PAIN I’M FEELING…. I JUST LOST MY BROTHER, MY HEART, MY COMPANION. SOME OF YOU HAVE NO SENSE OR COMPASSION! YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON. YOU COME HERE TO PLAY INVESTIGATOR AND CRITICIZE ME ON THE INTERNET. I WOULD NEVER SET UP MY BROTHER. WE SHARED MEALS, STRUGGLED TOGETHER. HE WAS LIKE FAMILY TO ME. I DON’T NEED TO EXPLAIN MYSELF TO THOSE WHO DON’T KNOW ME BUT FOR THOSE WHO DO, WHEN YOU SAW ME, YOU SAW POP. WE LIVE IN A DISTURBED SOCIETY, YOU NEED TO WAKE UP. JUST KNOW I WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU, BROTHER. THE TRUTH WILL COME OUT. UNTIL THEN, REST IN PEACE.”
Mike Dee’s statement is in response to accusations of his involvement in setting up Pop Smoke’s murder. Despite the lack of evidence from the police, social media investigators are pointing fingers at Mike for the tragic event.
These accusers are using a picture he posted on social media showing the address of Pop Smoke’s home in California as a key piece of evidence. Many believe this was intentional, leading the intruders to the location for the early morning attack.
However, some individuals have defended Mike by pointing out that Pop Smoke himself inadvertently shared his address with his one million Instagram followers earlier that same day.
Pop Smoke received bags from Mike Amiri and showcased them to his fans, unintentionally revealing the address on one of the bags and ultimately disclosing his exact location to his followers.
