Minka Dumont Dufay, better known as Minka Kelly , is an American model and actress, born on June 24, 1980, in Los Angeles, California. The only child of guitarist Rick Dufay of the rock band Aerosmith, Minka grew up with her mother, Maureen Dumont Kelly, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Upon her return to Los Angeles, while doing a photo shoot to take to a modeling agency, Minka was discovered by a former Playmate, who offered to be her agent, but the relationship did not last long when she asked him. He suggested breast augmentation. Instead, she became interested in medicine and studied to become a surgeon’s assistant, a profession she held for four years, while continuing to attend auditions for acting and modeling. After brief appearances as an extra, Minka achieved a leading role in the acclaimed series Friday Night Lights (2006-2009), in which she participated for 52 episodes. From that moment on, Kelly has remained active as an actress, standing out in series such as Parenthood (2010), Almost Human (2013), Titans (2018) and films such as 500 Days of Her (2009), The White House Butler (2013) and In the Assassin’s Game (2018), among others.
